Member Demo Tables

July's meeting was another member-to-member ideas exchange. Four members and one guest were on hand to share tips and information about their particular jewelry and crafting techniques.

Cindy Brinkman shared how she uses beads, wire, and ribbons in her work. She brought in trays of the embellishments she uses in her artwork. Members leaned in close as she showed examples of her finished works.

Karen Norris of 'Our Creative Outlet' a Sussex based business is where Cindy Brinkman makes her clay-based work. Karen, the proprietess, was on hand to show some simple clay techniques and describe the firing process used when making raku items.

Cindy Collins was a repeat presenter for these mini-workshops and shared a different polymer clay process showing how she uses wallpaper and gilding creams to embellish the surfaces of her creations.

Susan Beal came with a new technique for making unique cabochons using inexpensive products like nail polish and clear glass cabochons/domes.

Traci Otte, Creative Pursuits, uses the netting stitch regularly in her creations. She shared tips and techniques including a hand-out along with multiple examples.

With less than 15 minutes per station, time flew by. Members were still lingering as the library began closing their doors for the evening.
